Hamilton is one of a select few contractors in UK that can provide a 25-year insurance backed warranty from SWIGA (Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency) for all high-rise projects, a demonstration of our reputation and position in the industry.
SWIGA’s high-rise contractors are checked for the following:
- Minimum net worth
- Signed up to suitable third party surveillance (including SWIGA’s third party insurance surveyors who check the high-rise projects at three stages)
- Have current PAS 20:30/20:35 certification
- Suitable track record with major projects
- Suitable track record with high-rise buildings specifically
- Very strict rules around site supervision
- Strict rules about the numbers of fully trained, experienced and carded operatives linked to the system being applied
- Have a quality system, and the required insurances
- Provision of the correct welfare facilities
- Strong historical relationship with the system provider to be used
- Provision of evidence including: Structural surveys, wind loading calculations, pull out tests, confirmation from the provider that the system is suitable to meet the fire requirements for the building in question
- Approval of our third party, UK-based insurer
This is the minimum acceptable criteria SWIGA requires, as high-rise projects are fraught with risk and the cost to correct them after the fact, combined with the disruption to the homeowners can be catastrophic.
