If you’ve received funding through the Warm Homes: Social Housing Fund (WH:SHF) Wave 3, congratulations – you’re one step closer to improving the energy efficiency of your housing stock and making a real impact in tackling fuel poverty.
But securing funding is only the beginning. With delivery deadlines, quality benchmarks and regulatory frameworks to meet, awardees must hit the ground running.
At Hamilton, we’ve supported local authorities and housing associations through previous waves of the WH:SHF.
Here are our top tips for Wave 3 awardees preparing to deliver high-quality, PAS-compliant retrofit projects:
1. Understand the PAS standards
You’ll need to ensure every retrofit measure aligns with PAS 2035 guidance and is installed by a PAS 2030 or MCS-certified contractor. This is a mandatory requirement for funding compliance and long-term performance. Learn more here.
2. Use the TrustMark portal
All measures must be registered on the TrustMark Retrofit Portal to qualify for funding. This ensures transparency, quality assurance and alignment with central reporting and auditing requirements.
3. Plan ahead
Funding must be spent by March 2028, but delivery success hinges on early mobilisation. Get assessment, procurement and installation phases moving now to avoid future logjams.
4. Select experienced delivery partners
Working with experienced contractors who understand the nuances of PAS, TrustMark and social housing retrofit is essential. At Hamilton, we’re already delivering retrofit programmes across the UK in partnership with registered providers and local authorities. See how we can help you by clicking here.
5. Keep comprehensive records
From retrofit assessments to handovers, document every stage. Good recordkeeping supports compliance, future audits and wider asset management strategies.
