CITB has launched a £250,000 national pilot scheme to raise competence in the rainscreen façade sector. The programme sets out to up-skill 100 installers and 24 supervisors over two years, with delivery by 3B Training Ltd across England, Scotland and Wales.
Courses are free to attend during the pilot, with delivery anticipated from early 2026.
What’s included
According to CITB, the initiative introduces new short-course training standards for rainscreen façade installers and supervisors, aimed at supporting compliant installation and accelerating remediation of high-risk buildings. The pilot is part of wider efforts to improve building safety and competence in façade works.
Why it matters for the sector
Competence & compliance: Recognised training pathways help demonstrate the right skills on site and support building safety documentation.
Remediation capacity: The programme is linked to government plans to speed up remediation on buildings with unsafe cladding.
Clarity for supervisors: A defined supervisor route supports consistent oversight and first-time quality.
