Located in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, which is dubbed the creative and urban heart of the city, Vantage Quay was identified as having unsafe cladding in the wake of the Grenfell disaster. It was agreed that there was a need to undertake works to address the inadequacy of the external cladding system, timber trellis and associated insulation.
First Choice Homes Oldham (FCHO) committed £2.6m to refurbishing its high-rise properties Littlemoor House and Montgomery House. The investment made the 1970s buildings more energy efficient and compliant with the very latest fire safety regulations, as well as bringing the tower blocks’ aesthetics right up to date.
Hamilton acted as main contractor for this safety critical project on a six-story residential building in Bolton town centre.
The front and rear elevations featured timber cladding from floors one to five. Timber clad steel sliding sunscreens were also installed to all balconies.
Hamilton acted as sub-contractor for Equans on this challenging remediation project which involved complete removal and replacement of all external cladding and insulation on a high-rise, mixed-use building.
